TheHockey Club Lugano announces that in recent days the organisation's current Scouting Director Julien Vauclair asked the company to be released from his current contract, after receiving a significant and attractive offer from another employer.
After carefully evaluating the situation and the specificity of the challenge proposed to 'Julio', the club and, on its behalf, its Board of Directors and management, decided, albeit regretfully, to agree to the request.
The parties thus agreed to mutually terminate the employment relationship with effect from 31 January 2022.
The HCL is in this circumstance particularly proud to have contributed to the personal and professional growth of Julien, operative as Scout Director since summer 2020, aware that the challenge that awaits him represents an important step in his path as sports manager. He thanks Julien and wishes him all the best in his new adventure.
With his 20 seasons, two national titles and a record 939 games in the bianconera jersey , the only one ever worn in the Swiss top league, Julien Vauclair will remain the flag par excellence ofHockey Club Lugano and will forever have a prominent place in the family bianconera.
When the world has regained its normality, he and the HCL will surely find a way to celebrate an extraordinary career by retiring the number 3 jersey.
The club's General Manager Hnat Domenichelli has been active since the beginning in trying to find the best solutions to fill Julien Vauclair's tasks in the immediate and near future, both nationally and internationally.
These are the words of Julien Vauclair:
"Things in sports go very fast and the professional challenge that has been proposed to me is very interesting for my growth. I sincerely thankHockey Club Lugano, its managers and my colleagues for what we have done together, for accepting my request to leave in the middle of a season and for deciding to retire my jersey. I am proud to have written historical pages of this club and I will always feel part of the family bianconera".
