The semifinals of the U20 Elit category playoffs begin on Friday, March 17.
Second in the regular season behind the very strong Zug and winners in four games of Kloten in the quarterfinal series, the boys bianconeri led at the barrier by Paolo Morini and Gianluca Prato face the Young Tigers of Langnau.
Once again this season, the top formation of the nursery bianconero confirmed the good work of the Youth Section. After Luca Gianinazzi's promotion to the first team bench in October, the group continued to grind out play and results and thus for the fourth year in a row enters the Top Four.
The first semifinal showdown is scheduled at Cornèr Arena on Friday, March 17 beginning at 8:15 p.m.
Game 2 will be played in the Emmental on Sunday at 5:45 p.m., Game 3 on Wednesday, March 22 at home at 8:15 p.m., the eventual Game 4 and Game 5 on Friday, March 24 in Langnau at 7:45 p.m. and Sunday, March 26 on Lugano ice at 1 p.m., respectively.
Instead, they only came close to achieving a feat for the U17 Elite. Krister Cantoni's boys, who had closed the regular season at the eighth rank, bowed to Biel, the regular season triumphant, only in game 5, after managing to conquer the Seeländer rink on two occasions. Too bad.
