Julian Walker will play his 11th consecutive season with the jersey ofHockey Club Lugano.
The 36-year-old striker signed a new contract with the company bianconera these days valid for the 2023/24 championship.
"Jule" emerged victorious in the last season from a long duel with bad luck that first forced him to overcome a second surgery in the fall after one in March 2022 for a fractured tibia and later to have to struggle with a problem in one hand.
Yet with his proverbial tenacity, number 91 managed to make his tangible contribution to the team in the hottest phase of the championship, playing six regular season games and the preplayoff and playoff challenges against Fribourg and Geneva.
With his cunning and experience, his physical presence on the ice and his attitude as a leader in the group, Walker still remains an important part of Luca Gianinazzi's team.
Therefore, the bianconera family welcomes the news of his contract renewal with great satisfaction and wishes him well during the next championship to surpass the significant threshold of 500 games with the HCL jersey.
